If Dreams Ever Lasted

Our souls had been siamese. Now I aborted her from myself. I stood still in the cold of night, and apart from the drowning darkness around us only a flickering streetlight illuminated her weak body as she stumbled away in despair. Her tears had fallen to their death on the pavement; it was not yet snowing but it was cold enough for them to freeze. I heard her crying; her sobbing, shattered voice echoed over the quiet suburb. I watched her until she vanished in the dark.”

This is a small excerpt from a story I have been working on in the past few weeks now. This was among the first I came up with. You are welcome to tell me what you think. 🙂

The picture has nothing to do with the novel. I just think it fits well with the text.
